Picture Essay - The Art of Photography

Tobago "Fort King George"

A Documentary Picture Tribute

The Completed Documentary

Completed!

I had a struggle, I would admit attempting to complete this tribute to Pravy in 35 B. He went out of his way to accommodate me, and I am happy that I was able to reach the standard I was looking for. There were several shots I had to omit to keep within the 5min slot, but I hope to upload those extra bits that would have added to the story.

Since for some reason I cannot locate it on Youtube, here is the link. If you read the treatment for it, I know you would be as excited as I am.

35 B Harvest - A Documentary

The Cut Photography

It was interesting the fascination I had with the new cameras our school provided such that I took these pictures surrounding the cut.

My picture portfolio on Carmen. I tried to focus solely on her, while blurring the background, hence making her in sharp focus. I hope to improve these skills in the future. Once I get the hang of these cameras, I would become a mater at them. I hope to continue my focus in photography, it is a beautiful art tool.

Photo Essay - Digtally Enhanced Photo

Original Photo
Background Photo
Both Combined

How to Digitally alter this picture. Based on the stunts I learned in Photoshop in class, I was able to remove the background of my cousin holding the flower and replace it with a back of flowers I took prior to this. I merged them both together, while tweaking the colour of the purple-peach flowers, to resemble the flower in focus. This was the result, a digitally enhanced photo.

The Cut Budget

Of course with everything comes a cost. You would definitely need to plan ahead to best understand what you are willing to spend. My share $106.00 rounded off.

What do you think about this, I would definitely lessen up on some of the eats. I don't remember having a  currants roll, which seemed to cost the most.

The Cut - How to Deal

Losing a cast member took a toll on every member of the group. Did we see such a large project coming true? I don't know, we handled everything with a great deal of professionalism. We got all of our forms, documents, sources, just to make the day go right. We even set aside time for prayer, becuase we needed a sunny day to work, becuase we had no other alternatives except to walk with our umbrellas. The set was the savannah, there was no other alternative. Which was probably one situation now thinking about it, we should work on in the future. No matter how trying it may be, always have a Plan B.

What I did not anticipate was the news after production was completed, editing was finished and the final product burned to a DVD. We did not anticipate the news of the death of Kendell McDonald. Our main star and this was his last film production if there were any other roles for him in the future. We did not prepare for this in advance. I remembered hearing the news the morning after. It was devastating, how do you cope with such a loss for the entire production team.

This was the first time I met Kendell McDonald and the news still hurt to hear. He was just here. I made out this video especially to him. May he rest in peace.

THE CUT

This is one outcome I am certain had our lecturer at ends. How easily things could slip by and the small things we fuss over, no longer meaning much as the life that is so short. It is something we experienced as a group and something that would forever make us remember this production.
