Losing a cast member took a toll on every member of the group. Did we see such a large project coming true? I don't know, we handled everything with a great deal of professionalism. We got all of our forms, documents, sources, just to make the day go right. We even set aside time for prayer, becuase we needed a sunny day to work, becuase we had no other alternatives except to walk with our umbrellas. The set was the savannah, there was no other alternative. Which was probably one situation now thinking about it, we should work on in the future. No matter how trying it may be, always have a Plan B.
What I did not anticipate was the news after production was completed, editing was finished and the final product burned to a DVD. We did not anticipate the news of the death of Kendell McDonald. Our main star and this was his last film production if there were any other roles for him in the future. We did not prepare for this in advance. I remembered hearing the news the morning after. It was devastating, how do you cope with such a loss for the entire production team.
This was the first time I met Kendell McDonald and the news still hurt to hear. He was just here. I made out this video especially to him. May he rest in peace.
THE CUT
This is one outcome I am certain had our lecturer at ends. How easily things could slip by and the small things we fuss over, no longer meaning much as the life that is so short. It is something we experienced as a group and something that would forever make us remember this production.
